Greater Trust in NATO, the EU and the UN
| CBOS has been monitoring the level of trust in various institutions and organisations for close to twenty years.
| In comparison with previous surveys, very clear gains in social trust have been made by international institutions: the European Union (up from 53% in 2018 to 73% now), the United Nations (up from 57% in 2016 to 72% now) and NATO (up from 62% in 2016 to 80% now). It is worth noting that levels of trust in NATO and the UN are at a record high. Trust in the EU is also as high as it has ever been – the highest up to now was recorded in 2008, when the same percentage of respondents as now said they trusted the EU, and a somewhat lower percentage than now said they did not.
