Should vaccination for Covid-19 be compulsory?
| Almost two fifths of those surveyed thought that Covid vaccination should be compulsory for everyone (38%, a rise of 9 percentage points on August 2021), a further 13% believed it should be compulsory only for particular groups of people, while 43% wanted it to be completely voluntary.
|
| The groups most frequently chosen for compulsory vaccination were health service workers (99%), then teachers (90%), followed by residential care workers (85%) uniformed services (police, armed forces, fire service, prison service, border guard and others) (73%), and workers in the retail and service sectors (62% and 47% respectively). Relatively few respondents indicated other groups, e.g. the sick and the elderly, and those coming into frequent contact with other people (10% in total).

| More on this subject in the CBOS report.
| This ‘Current Events and Problems’ survey (381) was conducted using a mixed-mode procedure on a representative sample of named adult residents of Poland, randomly selected from the National Identity Number (PESEL) register.
| Respondents independently selected one of the following methods: – Computer Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI); – Computer Assisted Telephone Interview (CATI), respondents receiving researchers’ telephone numbers in an introductory letter from CBOS; – Computer Assisted Web Interview (CAWI), where respondents filled in the online questionnaire independently, gaining access by means of a login and password provided in an introductory letter from CBOS.
| In all three cases the questionnaire had the same structure and comprised the same questions. The survey was carried out between 3 – 13 January 2022 inclusive on a sample of 1135 people (46.4% using the CAPI method, 33.1% CATI and 20.4% CAWI).
| CBOS has been conducting statutory research using the above procedure since May 2020, stating in each case the percentage of personal, telephone and internet interviews.
